Godaddy review in April - 2024

You may recall GoDaddy web hosting’s enthralling Super Bowl commercial from the previous two years, as well as celebrity ambassadors (including race car drivers Danica Patrick and Dale Earnhardt Jr.). We remember Go Daddy for their long history of offering a range of economical shared hosting plans, domain services, email services, virtual and dedicated servers, and business solutions. We’ll concentrate on their shared hosting plans for the sake of this review, rather than their smart ads or variety of other hosting options.

We actually mean “downright cheap” when we say “affordable” in this case. GoDaddy is the ultimate all-you-can-eat buffet of shared hosting services. You might be able to find more and finer foods (read: frills) elsewhere, but you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better deal for the features you’ll receive. The deluxe plan, which includes 150 GB of disk space and 1500 GB of bandwidth and costs as little as $5.94 per month, is the best deal here. This hosting package is suitable for a growing business or a personal website with a lot of photos and information to share. Every bundle includes Go Daddy’s hosting connection, which includes over 50 applications in one easy-to-use, quick-to-install location.

With over 30 million domains under its management, Go Daddy could very well be the world’s largest web hosting business. It’s simple to see why, with such low prices and good client satisfaction. It’s sometimes a good idea to follow the crowd.

Price value

Every GoDaddy shared hosting plan comes with at least 500 free email accounts, ten MySQL databases, and an infinite number of email forwards, as well as forums, photo galleries, blogging, and a selection of free pre-installed and add-on software programs.

Customers of Go Daddy have access to FTP 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, free website statistics, ASP, ASP.NET, and Microsoft FrontPage extensions, and daily backups. There are no set-up costs or annual commitments to make (though of course the bargains increase with your level of commitment). Even the cheapest GoDaddy plan guarantees that no advertising will appear on your website. Also, while domains are not free at signup, as they are with many rival servers, they are only $1.99 each when purchased as part of your package, which is a bargain.

Overall, GoDaddy web hosting provides excellent value for your money.

Reliability

Despite the fact that GoDaddy is a diverse corporation with numerous hats to wear outside of web hosting, they own, run, and support its own world-class data centers outright (as opposed to renting them like so many hosting-only companies do). Your site’s routers, firewalls, and servers are all top-of-the-line and constantly monitored. That implies both your data and the physical systems and structures that support it are safe.

And, not to be outdone, Go Daddy backs up its claims with a 99.9% uptime guarantee.

Control Panel

GoDaddy promotes their own unique control panel, yet there’s no way to see a sample or demo of it on their website (or anywhere else on the net for that matter). There is a deliberate selection of task-centered menus (Domain Names, Email, Websites, Secure Certs, Customer Info, etc.) all selectable by clicking on large, obvious buttons, as with most control panels. Yes, it’s really basic and conventional cuisine. However, some of the menus, such as the Domain Control Panel, are a little cluttered and could use some spring cleaning in terms of layout.

The quantity of windows you have to sift through selling various GoDaddy products and services that you can buy is the GoDaddy control panel’s one major flaw. Customers of virtual and dedicated servers, on the other hand, get to use the more reputable Plesk and/or cPanel control panels.

Customer Support

GoDaddy provides phone assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week (though not toll-free); the website also provides a real-time projected wait time, which seems to fluctuate between five and ten minutes. GoDaddy web hosting also has an email support system with a response time of seven hours.

The extensive and searchable Help Center at GoDaddy includes no fewer than 30 topic-specific.

User guides in PDF format, as well as a searchable library of articles and frequently asked questions. HostDaddy has also created a series of interactive “Actioncasts” that may be used by beginners to learn the ropes of new programs and services.

I tried lower priced hosts before, but you get what you pay for. GoDaddy has the best customer service but I only know that because I had a question. The service is never down.

I am very Happy and pleased with GoDaddy’s web hosting services. I recommend GD to my clients and friends. Their customer service and help has been excellent, the few times I have needed to contact them mostly for things I had goofed up and they were right there to help.

Never having had a website before, I went with Godaddy only because they’re the ones I see advertised on TV. I like all the resources for beginners … customer service is OK live… a little slower than I would like .. But seriously, everything you need is alreay there! Take it from me – a simple start is all I want!

This is the fourth website hosting company I have had in the past 9 years. They are far and away the best. I’ve gotten very quick and very good replies on the few occasions I’ve needed support. The features provided are excellent and the prices competitive. I would choose GoDaddy again both for the website’s I manage and for my personal sites as well. Like the saying goes, “Two thumbs, way up.”

I have nothing but good things to say GoDaddy. After going through at least half a dozen hosts in just a couple of months, GoDaddy blew me out of the water. They are affordable, dependable, have great software. Transfering my info was easy. The support was prompt, professional, and it was a REAL person. I haven’t noticed any down time. Their selection of packages is great. I don’t know what else to say. If you’re not getting hosting from them, you are seriously being ripped off!

I am having issues with my email program and my web browser connecting to the server hosting my account. My internet connection is fine but I can’t anywhere because it won’t connect to the server. This has been an ongoing issue for several years and they cannot get it fixed. I am switching hosting to someone else so that my connections will be more reliable.

Domain name provide

GoDaddy is one of the most well-known domain registrars. You may get practically any domain extension you want with them, including.com,.net,.org,.law, and even.today. A.com domain will set you back $14.99 for the first year and $19.99 after that, which is hardly the cheapest option.

Hosting services

Shared hosting plans are also available at GoDaddy. At renewal, it will cost you between $8.99 and $24.99 per year. You’ll be sharing a server with other customers if you use this type of hosting service. It’s appropriate for small and medium-sized projects that don’t necessitate high-performance servers.
GoDaddy, like many other hosting companies, offers WordPress-optimized shared hosting. They appear to optimize their servers for better WordPress performance, provide WordPress pre-installed, and provide a variety of themes. If you ask me, there isn’t much to get excited about. When you renew, it starts at $9.99 each month.

VPS / Dedicated server

VPS options from GoDaddy are for individuals that require custom server configuration. You’ll be able to customize your server to your liking if you have root (administrative) access. In addition, they provide better performance than shared hosting services. GoDaddy’s VPS options start at $6 per month (self-hosted) and go up to roughly $100 per month.
A dedicated hosting package is your best next alternative if the higher performance of a VPS isn’t enough for your site. You’ll have your own server and won’t have to worry about your neighbors interfering with your project using these. Dedicated servers start at $130 per month at GoDaddy, so you’ll need a budget for that.

Other services

1/ GoDaddy also provides email domain, allowing you to have a professional-looking address such as [email protected]. For 10 GB of email storage, they start at $5.99 per user per month.

2/ They also offer a website builder available for those who aren’t as tech-savvy. To be honest, it’s not my favorite site builder because some of the functions are lacking (e.g. the blog). Other options, such as Weebly, Wix, or Squarespace, appear to me to be more well-rounded.
